We are proud to say that the event was a complete sell out and a total success.

Francesca Woods cooked up an absolute storm in the tiny Odessa kitchen serving an array of delicious feasts, from cucumber and tuna ceviche, edamame bean and soba noodle salad, slow cooked curries, prawns with citrus chilli mayo, and a mouth watering lime panna cotta with fresh strawberries and citrus syrup.

With bottomless glasses of wine from both the Grampians and the Yarra Valley, as well as a generous amount of Ketel one vodka, ticket holders ended their nights feeling jolly and full!

Odessa creative space and RMIT’s faculty of Interior Design,

presents KITSCHÉ - Pop up restaurant and bar, a temporary

social platform, facilitating an immersive eating and design

experience at an intimate scale.

Utilising experimental lighting techniques, a series of conceptual

installations will challenge perceptions, constructing a new way

to experience food and wine through creativity and design.

The restaurant will feature a number of innovative installations by

up and coming Melbourne designers. Throughout the duration of

the evening the space will evolve, revealing a nuance of dynamic

displays that will take guests through a series of sensorial

journeys.

Chef, Francesca Woods has complimented this appetite for

design with an array of complex fusion dishes to entice the

pallet, accompanied by a wealth of Victorian sources beverages.

For those seeking a unique and visionary gastronomic

experience, the faculty of RMIT Interior Design are please to

present KITSCHÉ – an ephemeral collaboration of the senses

through the world of contemporary food and design.

Keeping succinct with the seating arrangement, the bar design also embraces recycling to provide both a practical yet design focussed model. The bar will evolve the newspaper seating concept into an L shaped service counter.

Recycled ply-wood will ‘float’ between stacks to provide a stable shelving and display unit which will house a variety of liquor.

The seating will be streamlined throughout both restaurant and bar spaces, utilising otherwise discarded newspapers and a take home Kitsch’e cushion! Using the Hockenheimer model as precedence, our seating arrangement aims to embrace the temporary with a strong focus on portability.
